Pakistan Imposing a 50% Work-From-Home Rule as a Precautionary Measure of COVID-19
The Pakistan Federal Minister has announced to close all educational institutions from November 26 to January 10 because of increasing coronavirus cases. The decision was made after careful consideration by the Government of Pakistan.
According to the Education Minister decision was taken to control the surge of corona cases in Pakistan. Authorities have asked the school to schedule online classes to cover the syllabus and work from home.
The decision has made clear that from November 26 to December 24, all the students will study from home, and from December 25 to January 10, 2021, winter vacations will be held. From January 11, schools will resume after assessing the current condition of the virus. Board exams which were to be held in March next year have moved to June.
1. General Condition of Corona
The General COVID-19 situation is getting worse with each passing day. The death toll and positive corona cases are on the rise for the first time since March. Pakistan's total death toll has reached 7, 662 and reported cases have reached 374,173. The biggest city of Pakistan, Karachi, has imposed a smart lockdown in various parts of cities. Similarly, Lahore is also going through smart lockdown in some localities.
2. Preventive Actions
The Government of Pakistan has announced many preventive measures to control the outbreak of COVID-19. The measures include shutting down all education institutions, compulsion on wearing masks, closure of marriage halls, and shutting big malls and restaurants by 10:00 pm. It also includes reducing the enclosed workplace strength to almost 50%.
3. Exit strategy
The only exit strategy from COVID-19 is a vaccine that can cure it. The government has allocated funds to provide vaccines for 3-5% of the country's population. The country has also appealed to the international community for debt relief. In such a troubling time, the only way for the world is to save humankind from this deadly outbreak.
Conclusion
We can avoid this outbreak by complying with all precautionary measures, wearing a mask when we are going out. Avoid crowded places, quarantine ourselves if we have symptoms to protect others from this deadly disease. Pakistan is a country that is not economically stable; with the advent of COVID-19, our economic system is experiencing a downward trend. The sooner we get rid of this menace, the better we will be.
